Titanfall 2 Video Review
Titanfall 2 Reviews: There’s no doubt that the FPS genre gets bigger and bigger every year.
With this ever-expanding genre comes new innovations – and Titanfall 2 is full of them.
In Titanfall 2, you take control of a Titan Pilot, a well-trained soldier capable of piloting the Titans, which are 20 foot tall machines designed for war.
While primarily a multiplayer game, this new Titanfall game also comes with a new single player campaign.
Titanfall 2 has six brand new classes of Titans – including Northstar, Ronin, Scorch, Ion, Legion, and Tone.
All play differently and have their own unique abilities and set loadouts.
Northstar is essentially the sniper Titan. Northstar can hover, fly, trap other Titans with its tether mines, and is very lightweight.
Its rifle is designed to be used at a long range accurately for critical hits.
Ronin is a similarly designed Titan, but plays very differently.
Ronin acts like a hit-and-run Titan, dealing large amounts of damage in quick bursts – but Ronin is limited to melee.
You can use Ronin’s abilities to slow enemies down and dash to avoid fire, because you don’t want to stick around for too long after you strike.
Scorch’s name says it all – it uses fire both offensively and defensively.
But it’s primarily an offensive fighter.
However, Scorch is very slow, so it should stay out of the way of the fight and do damage from a distance. Ion is a very powerful fighter.
Equipped with lasers, it can deal massive amounts of precise damage.
Additionally, Ion has a vortex shield, which lets it capture incoming bullets and fire them back at the enemy.
Legion is a very strong defensive Titan, equipped with a shield and a predator cannon.
Finally, Tone is an offensive rocketeer. Tone is equipped with a 40mm cannon, a protective shield, and a rocket barrage.
Titanfall 2 Reviews of The Critics
Titanfall 2 has received wonderful reviews from critics, including a 4.5/5 from GamesRadar, a 9.5/10 from GameInformer, and a 90/100 from GameSpot.
Titanfall 2 is available in a few different editions: Standard, Deluxe, Steelbook, OGIO, and Vanguard.
Standard is just the game in the plastic case. Deluxe is like standard, but with extra cosmetic options for your Titans.
The OGIO edition includes a backpack with Velcro Titanfall badges on it.
Finally, Vanguard includes the deluxe edition, a Pilot’s field journal, a dog tag flash drive, morale patches, a Shemagh scarf, and a fully functioning and wearable 1:1 replica of a Pilot’s helmet, with a rail system, flashlights and laser sights, and light up blue faceplate.
Titanfall 2 has no paid DLC – something that everyone was happy to hear – meaning that all maps and weapons DLC that are released will be available to everyone for free.
Titanfall 2 Reviews: Titanfall 2 is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
